Description of internship position:
The Cardiac Rehab Specific Internship mentors and transitions the Exercise Science (preferred) Nutrition, Health Science, Nursing, or Pre-Med Junior or Senior Student, in good academic standing, from the classroom into the workforce through our knowledge, leadership, and innovation. Through observation and hands on learning under the supervision of a qualified heartlife RN, the intern will receive relevant experience to be better prepared for their chosen career.
The internship will last approximately 6-8 weeks. Multiple internships can be arranged throughout the semester. Learning outcomes:
Within 2-4 weeks, an intern will accurately measure resting and exercise BP’s, attach telemetry monitors, and safely demonstrate exercise equipment and assist with workflow.Intern will plan, implement, and present a unit based project under the supervision of the CR staff mentor over 6-8 weeks.Intern will observe active education sessions for cardiac rehab and diabetes during first month and take client post tests to demonstrate acquired knowledge.TBD – Repost from previous yearTBD – Repost from previous yearTBD – Repost from previous year
