Description of internship position:
The Prisma Health – Upstate Office Of Corporate Integrity’s Internal Audit Services department will provide the successful candidate education and experience with compliance and internal controls critical to a successful healthcare organization.
Intern will assist with identifying all Prisma Health – Upstate locations requiring physical inventory observations, monitor observation process, and verify all have been completed and supporting documentation obtained from Management. Draft and execute an audit program for a project they are assigned to. Create contact list for audit field work. Inventory observations scheduled, completed, and documentation supporting counts obtained and submitted to Prisma Health – Upstate Accounting management. Intern to conduct and administer physical inventory counts for Prisma Health – Upstate.
Learning outcomes:
To provide “hands-on” experience to students considering a career in healthcare internal auditing. Interns will be able to develop and execute a healthcare-specific internal audit program. Intern will be able to develop an audit contact list and learn to modify as the audit progresses. Interns will develop skills necessary to coordinate audits with multiple healthcare leadership and develop “soft skills.”
